Leslie: 2009 version

A year in completely unorganized photos:

2009: Year in Review

I was reflecting on the past year, and wondering what the hell I wrote about all year, when I decided to look and see if I resolved anything last year for 2009. I was curious to see if I kept my resolutions. Instead I found this survey that we did last year at the end of the year, so now I shall do it again!

2009:
1. Was 2009 good for you? Yes, I think it was. It started out with a pretty destructive bang, but I think I have managed to move on to bigger and better things and I am a lot happier than I was a year ago.
2. What was your favorite moment of the year? Crossing the finish line of the Portland marathon with my loved ones waiting to make sure I didn't fall over dead... that was pretty awesome.
3. What was your worst moment of the year? Last January, having my world turned upside down. No question.
4. Where were you when 2009 began? Dancing in the snow in my hometown.
5. Who were you with? My sister and two close friends
6. Where were you when 2009 ended? Hasn't happened yet, but I will be with my super hot boyfriend and his best friend... location TBD.
7. Did you keep your new years resolution of 2009? One was to run a marathon, so yeah! Go me! According to this survey another was to be more social (check, especially since I moved to a bigger town) and the other was to learn to do a cartwheel. Damn that acrobatic shit, it still fools me.
8. Do you have a new years resolution for 2010? Eat healthier than I have been at the end of 2009. Be happy.
9. Did you fall in love in 2009? Actually, yes. Didn't see that one coming!
10. Did you make any new friends in 2009? Yes! Several. See, I am more social.
11. What was your favorite month of 2009? September was good... October as well. July was fun cause it involved camping and being outside a lot.
12. Why this month? October featured the marathon ass-kicking as well as starting a new, awesome job and settling into a new apartment. So I think overall that wins. September featured my birthday, lots of quality social time, decision to allow the boyfriend to date me (I'm difficult) and moving into the apartment. July = camping and being awesome. All were very good months.
13. Did you travel outside of the US in 2009? I wish!
14. How many different places did you travel to in 2009? Hmmm.... Boise, Salt Lake City, Washington to see the G-parents, camping, Salem... I think that's all? I didn't get out a lot this year.
15. Did you miss anybody in the past year? I miss my sisters (they're too far away) and several friends who are no longer alive.
16. What was your favorite movie that you saw in 2009? Oooh, good question. I really liked "500 Days of Summer" and that's the only one I can think of right now. Also, "Julie & Julia"
17. What was your favorite song from 2009? I have several that got replayed a million times during marathon training... Pretty much anything from Glee, I think.
18. How many concerts or plays did you see in 2009? A couple local bands/people, but that is it, I think
19. Did you have a favorite concert in 2009? Brett Dennen with Shawna was fun, now that I'm remembering what concerts I went to
20. What was your favorite book in 2009? I read the whole Twilight series, I cannot tell a lie.
21. Did you do anything you are ashamed of this year? Read the entire Twilight series. Paid too much attention to a boy who wasn't worth it (but I came to my senses about that one)
22. What was the biggest lie you told in 2009? I really can't think of one... I'm sure I lied though.
23. Did you treat somebody badly in 2009? Probably, but I'm sure they deserved it.
24. Did somebody treat you badly in 2009? Yes, and I wish I had realized it earlier than I did.
25. What was your proudest moment of 2009? Finishing the Portland marathon. Starting a job with a company and promoting to a much higher position in a matter of six months.
26. What was your most embarrassing moment of 2009? Oh I embarrass myself almost daily. One involves my sister telling top-secret, horrifying stories of our youth to people... that was awkward.
27. If you could go back to any moment of 2009 and change something, what would it be? I wouldn't change anything. I learned a lot from everything that happened to me this year, and it was a hell of a year.
28. Where did you work in 2009? At the same place I worked in 2008, then rocked the world of unemployment, then for a super awesome company that I love
29. Favorite TV shows(s) of 2009? There was this brief period where I didn't have TV. I didn't like that.
30. Favorite Band(s) of 2009? Did I mention I love the cast of Glee? They aren't a band though.
31. Favorite Food in 2009? Hmmm... sandwiches? I love sandwiches.
32. Favorite Drink in 2009? Water!
33. Favorite Place in 2009? I migrated a lot this year, so anywhere that I could be with people who love me
34. Favorite person(s) to be with in 2009? I refuse to pick favorites... but my sisters (including the adopted ones), Jason, Shawna, Anne, and everyone else that amuses me
35. Favorite person(s) to talk to in 2009? I have some quality talks with several people. It was a year of deep conversation.
36. Favorite trip in 2009? Probably to Salt Lake City to visit my adopted sister's b-day and drink jell-o shots
37. Favorite stores in 2009? I didn't shop much... I really spent some quality time at Safeway though. Gotta love groceries.
38. Hardest thing you had to go through in 2009? Having my world be upended and deal with unemployment and pseudo homelessness. Sucked.
39. Most exciting moment(s) in 2009? Marathon.
40. Funniest moment(s) in 2009? Oh dear, I am frequently hilarious. Shawna and I have done some ridiculous things I am sure.

Definitely not dead...

So I didn't realize how long my period of silence had been until I got a comment on my last post wondering where the hell we had been. Do not fear, Weetabix, we are still alive.

Really my only excuse is that I've been working (a lot) attempting to run with some sort of regularity (hello, post marathon napping) and surviving the holidays. I dressed up as an elf for my sister's job at an assisted living facility, and it was awesome.

Some highlights of the past few months:

*Ate turkey.

*Hosted Christmas pajama party and had a strange, strange man get incredibly intoxicated and chant thing while passed out on our couch as Shawna and I barricaded ourselves in my room cause we were scared... long story.

*Ate more turkey.

*Tormented my super cute boyfriend, who puts up with me cause he doesn't know better.

*Became addicted to the Facebook game "Sorority Life" which Shawna and I played endlessly for several days before giving it up.

That's about it. Kind of awesome. My new year's resolution is to blog regularly. Sorry!
