Reasons I love Brett Dennen

So, Leslie and I went to the Brett Dennen concert on Friday evening, and the experience was even more awesome than when I saw him a couple of years ago. Why do I love him so? Let me count the ways.

1. He's so dang positive and sings things like:

If you have a broken heart or a battered soul
Find something to hold on to or to let go
To help you through the hard nights like a flask filled with hope (awesome!)
Darlin' do not fear what you don't really know

2. He dances like a somewhat slutty girl. Maybe slutty isn't the right word, but he does give off a feminine vibe while shaking his moneymaker.

3. He sticks his tongue out sometimes while playing guitar. Cute.

4. He could be Conan O'Brien's giant, red-headed brother.

5. When asked by a concert-goer if he would dance with her since it was her first concert, Brett said he didn't need that occasion to dance. "I'll dance with you at the bank. I'll dance with you at the DMV."

6. He doesn't wear shoes onstage so that he can dance and dance and dance.

I love him. And I've had the lines "I may be weary but I am not weak. I can sing a song of suffering." stuck in my head all day long.

Here are some clips I found on YouTube from the actual concert, not great, but they work.

And just 'cause I think it's funny.
